We came across this advocacy center called Veterans Guide. Their mission is to assist veterans with the array of issues they may face, including obtaining proper disability compensation, financial assistance, information on the GI bill, and more.
Here you will find some helpful guides and will continuously be adding more. One the guides provides information about receiving a 100% VA Rating, which can come with many benefits that can help veterans, including getting the healthcare they need.

What's important to us is providing resources and help for veterans and their families. We want to make sure vets have all the resources necessary to ensure they struggle with their health and finances as little as possible.
Calculating Your Life Insurance NeedsFinancial advisors suggest having seven to ten times your annual income. For example, if you’re an E-7 with a salary of around $58,000 you’ll want to make sure you have between $406,000 and $580,000 of coverage.
There are a number of TRICARE plans available. Remember that your eligibility for these plans depends on who you and your sponsor are. Plan Finder and Compare Plans are useful tools on our website. To learn more about each plan, select from the list below: Compare Plans

Who is Eligible for a VA Loan? Are you still serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Reserves or National Guard? Or are you a veteran who left with an honorable discharge — or, at least, one that wasn’t dishonorable? If so, then you likely qualify for a VA loan. You’ll need to have served for a minimum period of time. That minimum period of service varies depending on your active-duty service dates. Minimum service requirements
VA home loan benefits — no down payment, no mortgage insuranceOne of the main benefits of the VA home loan is that it requires no down payment, which significantly reduces out-of-pocket expenses. This means you don’t have to spend years trying to save for a down payment while still paying rent. And that can make a big difference. If home prices are rising quickly in your area, you can buy right away. Now, you’re a homeowner who’s benefiting from higher prices — not a renter who’s locked out of homeownership by them.
Mortgage InsuranceAs importantly, VA loans do not require continuing monthly mortgage insurance. Most other loan types require you to pay a significant amount each month to a private mortgage insurance company if you make a down payment of less than 20 percent of the purchase price. A VA loan eliminates that cost, freeing up that money for other expenses. To sustain the program and guarantee loans, a one-time VA funding fee is added to the loan amount. Fees range from 0% to 3.6% — yours will depend on the loan amount and type, your service history, and whether you’ve used your VA home loan benefits before.
What you’ll need to get your COEIf you’re an active-duty servicemember, you’ll need a statement of service, “signed by (or by the direction of): the adjutant, personnel office, or commander of the unit or higher headquarters.” Your commanding officer should know the information to include in your statement of service. It should include the following information:·Your full name·Social security number·Date of birth·Entry date on active duty·The duration of any lost time·The name of the command providing the informationIf you’re a veteran, you’ll need your DD214 separation documents, which detail information regarding your military separation, retirement, or discharge. If you’ve misplaced your DD214 form, then you can order a replacement copy online.

What Is Space-A Flights (AKA, Military Hops)? After military flights accommodate all required passengers and cargo, they often release extra seats to service members, retirees, and their families. These eligible passengers can “hop” on the flights on a space-available (Space-A) basis. This is where the term “military hop” comes from. Because these are military, not commercial, flights, the military mission is always the priority. You may fly on a commercial plane, but you could also be in a cargo plane or fuel tanker.
Are You Eligible for a Space-A Flight? There are six categories, or “cats,” of eligible Space-A travelers, depending on their duty status and the reason they are traveling. Those in lower-numbered categories receive higher priority for available seats. Here is a summary of the Space-A travel categories, according to the Military OneSource website:Cat 1: Emergency leave unfunded travelCat 2: Accompanied environmental and morale leave (EML)Cat 3: Ordinary leave, service members’ relatives, house-hunting permissive temporary duty (TDY), Medal of Honor holders, and foreign military; also includes unaccompanied dependents of service members deployed for more than 365 consecutive days.Cat 4: Unaccompanied EML; also includes dependents of service members deployed between 30 and 364 consecutive daysCat 5: Permissive TDY (non-house-hunting), student travel, and post-deployment/mobilization respite absence; also includes unaccompanied dependents of service members stationed outside the continental U.S. (OCONUS)Cat 6: Military retirees, their dependents, military reserve, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) members and veterans who are 100% disabledTop 10 Military Space-A Terminals: https://militaryliving.com/top-10-space-terminals/Space-A Travel Guide: https://themilitarywallet.com/space-a-travel/https://www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Documents/DD/issuances/dodi/451513p.PDF?ver=2018-02-09-075927-907Air Force Billeting: If you’re looking for someplace to sleep for the night, check billeting availability through the services lodging list -https://www.dodlodging.net/
Please accept our condolences on the loss of your loved one. Rendering military funeral honors is one way to show the deep gratitude to those who, in times of war and peace, have faithfully defended our country. This ceremonial paying of respect is the final demonstration a grateful Nation can provide and it is our commitment to recognize the sacrifice and contributions of our Nation's veterans. By law, an honor guard detail for the burial of an eligible veteran consists of at least two members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and at least one member of the detail must be a representative from the deceased veteran's service branch. The honor detail performs a ceremony that includes the playing of taps and the folding and presentation of the American flag to the next of kin. Your funeral director can help you request military funeral honors.
